After school enrichment

YMCA enrichment programs add arts, academic, and fitness opportunities to children's daily lives. And it is convenient for busy parents. No more picking the kids up from the Y's After School program and running across town for karate or dance class. Your kids can stay here and learn these skills, while you take time for yourself to enjoy our wellness facility or a group exercise class.

Y enrichment programs are available individually or in addition to the After School program at the Caine Halter Family Y, Eastside Family Y, George I. Theisen Family Y, and the GHS Family Y/Adams Mill Program Center.

Carolina Karate at the YMCA of GreenvilleKarate

Our partnership with Carolina Karate has proven to be a great success. Their principle objective is to offer martial arts and fitness training in a positive, family oriented environment. All students learn basic karate skills, improve physical fitness and self-discipline. Children learn character building through the martial arts while having a great time in class.

ScienceScience classes at the Y after school

The YMCA "Mad About Science" program uses hands-on experiments, games, and activities to boost interest in the sciences, provide constructive and fun learning activities during out-of-school time and helps to raise self-confidence in our students. Science classes are currently only offered at the Caine Halter Family Y.

Dance Youth Dance Classes in Greenville at the Y

Three dance classes at the YMCA educate dancers in multiple disciplines -- including ballet, contemporary, and a combination class -- with an emphasis on proper technique and an appreciation of the art.

By exploring movement, rhythm, spatial awareness, and exploring their creativity, dancers form a foundation that will be nurtured as they grow through the program.

Students will learn terms, dramatic concepts and expression, develop the skills needed for performance and will learn character development. The classes are $120 per session for Y members, $145 for non-members and $110 for YMCA After School program participants. The Drama class is currently offered only at the Caine Halter Family Y.
