We are proud to be the only two-pool facility in the YMCA of Greenville association.  Our indoor pool was rebuilt in January 2008.  The pool was replastered and a new ramp and stairs were added for easier access.  The indoor pool is 70 feet long, 45 feet wide, and has a depth range of 3 feet to 6 1/2 feet deep.

Our outdoor pool was just completed in December 2008.  The pool measures 75 feet long, 45 feet wide, and a depth range of 3 feet to 5 feet deep.  The outdoor pool will be open year round, with a bubble enclosing the pool during the late fall and winter months.

Finally, our Splash Pad is the first of it's kind in the YMCA of Greenville association.  The splash pad is zero-depth and consists of four splash down buckets, two raining bars, two fountain bars and multiple geysers.  The Splash Pad will be opened during the late Spring through the end of Summer.

Swim Lessons

TheYMCA has been teaching and developing swim lessons for over one hundred years.  Here at the YMCA of Greenville, we follow that tradition by offering a wide variety of aquatic programs, but maintain a personal relationship with each individual.

Parent/Child Program - The instructor helps the parent acclimate their child to the water with games, songs and fun activities

The Preschool Program (ages 3-5) - Through each session, the instructor teaches the student water safety, games, drills, and introduces strokes for swimming.

Youth Program (ages 6-14) - Through each session, the instructor not only teaches the student water safety, and stroke development, but also introduces them to personal health and fitness.  Each class is student centered and the Aquatic Department tracks the child's progress and rewards them as they move through the different levels.

Adult Swim Lesson Program - Our instructors find out from each student what their individual goals are, and help them achieve those goals.

Private Swim Lessons are also made available upon request.

WAVE Program (NEW!)

This is not your basic swim course.  Participants must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle with rotary breathing and a working understanding of butterfly, breaststroke, freestyle, and backstroke is recommended.  Our highly experienced coaches will incorporate stroke technique and conditioning in every workout, giving each swimmer a workout that revolves around his/her particular needs. This program is the equivalent of passing the American Red Cross Level 3.  This program is coached by Paul Schmidt and Tom Callaway.
