The Eastside Family YMCA features a U-shaped heated pool with a shallow water
area starting at 3 feet deep, four lap lanes, and a diving well with a maximum
depth of 10 feet. We offer a variety of programs and activities such as free
or open swim times, adult only swim times, swimming lessons for all ages and abilities,
and water fitness programs ranging from beginners to advanced. We also have a
steam room, sauna, and whirlpool located just off the pool deck. Certified lifeguards
are on duty at all times the pool is open. Check out a pool schedule to find
out which times are best for you and your family to come and swim with us.
Our pool schedule lists appropriate times for lap swimming, open/fun swim, and adult only swim times. Please check schedule regularly for current information. Please note that during school holidays, the schedule will remain the same.
This class provides three certifications upon successful completion. American Red Cross Lifeguard (valid for 3 years), CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (valid 1 year), and First Aid (Valid for 3 years). Check out our schedule.
It is never too early or late to start swim lessons. The Eastside Family YMCA
offers swim lessons for children and adults of all ages and abilities, from the
timid beginner to the advanced level swimmer. In this program the YMCA teaches
not only basic swimming skills, but also skills that will allow participants to
enjoy a variety of aquatic activities throughout their lives. We teach the basic
fundamentals of swimming, stroke refinement, personal safety, survival and rescue,
as well as water sports and games. Our ultimate goal is not only teaching you
and your child how to swim, but to build confidence in everyone's swimming abilities
and to develop the whole person - spirit, mind and body. It's what make us different
from any other exercise facility.
Whether you're looking to branch out of your regular exercise routine, or have
never exercised before, we have a class to fit your needs. Water Fitness encourages
people to use the buoyant qualities of water to enhance their physical fitness
through exercises in the pool. Water can make some movements possible that would
be very difficult on land. It is an ideal form of exercise for all fitness levels
and increases physical strength and endurance without putting stress and strain
on joints--as in land based exercise. Swimmers and non swimmers alike can take
part in this type of exercise to reduce emotional stress and tension, improve
health and physical appearance, and encourage and improve feelings of well being
and self-esteem.
Classes offered: Shallow Water, Senior Water Fitness, Stretch and
Flex, Move and Flex, Deep Water and Combo. Please see the current Water Fitness class
schedule for class details, days and times.
