Adult Sports:**All Adult Sports take place at our Adams Mill Road site.** The GHS Family YMCA hosts an array of sports for adult participants over the age of 18. Softball includes Open A & B, Church, & Co-Ed divisions; Basketball hosts the Open/Industrial divisions; Volleyball hosts Open/Industrial and Church divisions; and Soccer hosts Open/Industrial & Co-Ed divisions. For information on these classes, click here. SwimmingMembers get together M-W-F around 8:00 AM for a very friendly swim practice. They usually bring their workouts to share. We generally have three swimmers per lane (using 3 lanes or 2 depending on the number of participants) but as long as you are open to their workouts, they are open to round swimming. This would be best described as Masters Swimming without the team logo, but definitely with the push to keep you active in your swimming. Adult Dance ClassesNEW! Adult Latin Dance ClassesOur Adult Latin dance classes are back! We will be offering salsa and bachatta for our spring session. Classes are on Sundays. Bachata is a dance native to the Dominican Republic and has recently become very popular in the US within the last 20-30 years. Currently, there are no other classes being taught on Bachata in the upstate of SC but the dance scene is full of it's music and flavor! Early Morning BasketballThis group is open to YMCA members only. The early morning basketball crew is very friendly and well organized. Teams are chosen based on the number of players that attend. Although this crew has been around for a long time, they welcome newcomers, and really have a lot of fun. Games run from 5:45 am until 7:00 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Running GroupsWe have a variety of running groups leaving from our Y throughout the week. One group leaves from different locations in the Simpsonville area on Saturday mornings. If you are interested in getting connected to this group, contact Len Solesbee. The Walk to Run Group meets at the GHS Y on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00am on the indoor track.
