Open Doors

The Open Doors Financial Assistance Program at the YMCA of Greenville helps our community.   At George I. Theisen Family YMCA, we have an ambitious goal of raising $61,000 to help our community members in need.  Two-thirds of money raised helps youth in the Travelers Rest and surrounding communities — including those who need a safe place to exercise and professionals to guide them towards a healthy lifestyle.

DONATIONS MATCHED!

Friends and members of the Y are raising these scholarship funds and we are looking for your help.    We have funds to MATCH YOUR DONATION.  For any new or increased donation of $250, we have a donor (John I. Smith Charities, Graham Foundation, and the Sanders Family Foundation) who will MATCH YOUR DONATION.   YOUR DONATION WILL GO TWICE AS FAR TO HELP OTHERS.

In Travelers Rest and our surrounding communities, we can help turn the tide on unhealthy lifestyles by donating to Open Doors. You can donate online at ymcaopendoors.org.

The YMCA embraces people of all ages, incomes, abilities, religious and ethnic backgrounds.  We work to break barriers of isolation and to create the connections that add meaning to life.  Participants with a financial need are encouraged to apply for Y scholarships.  The Yuses a sliding scale to evaluate each applicant.  Through gifts to the annual Open Doors Scholarship Campaign, the YMCA of Greenville makes its services available to thousands in our community every year.  Annually, the Y provides in excess of $950,000 in scholarships through gifts made by county friends.  Please make a pledge and open the door for someone who needs what the Y provides.  To make a pledge, please contact the George I. Theisen Family YMCA at 834-2400. Please consider giving to our Open Doors Campaign.Visit our website at www.ymcaopendoors.org
