Golden Strip YMCA Home School PE
The aim of the YMCA Home School PE Program is to develop and improve students' personal fitness and motor skills by providing developmentally appropriate activities through purposeful, creative and enjoyable instruction. By incorporating challenging yet achievable tasks, the students can attain positive attitudes about physical activity. To help promote success in the students' skills and abilities we will concentrate on a number of factors that include repetition, creativity, challenge, fun, recognition and cognitive thought. The cost is $25 per child for members and $10 for each additional child; and $35 per child for non-members and $15 for each additional child. Also, the kids will be divided into two teams and compete for points in our survivor challenge! At the end of the month, we will have a party for the teams. If you have any questions, please contact Dale Gilreath at 864-963-3605.
**Homeschool PE will not be offered during the Summer. The next session will begin in September. Registration will begin in August.
Want to Volunteer?
Since its beginning, the YMCA has been creating, managing and expanding its programs and facilities with the invaluable help of volunteers. Annually, hundreds of people give hours of their time and talents to the well being of the youth and adults in our community. What better way to make a difference in the lives of others than to contribute yourself? What volunteers give of themselves returns in heartwarming and often unexpected ways. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, or finding out more information, please complete the following forms and return them to the YMCA. Thanks for your consideration and continued support.

Why Exercise is cool:
Kids and teenagers exercise all the time without even thinking about it. Just being active, like when you run around outside or play kickball at school, is a kind of exercise. What else counts as exercise? Playing sports, dancing, doing push-ups, and even reaching down to touch your toes. When you exercise, you're helping build a strong body that will be able to move around and do all the stuff you need it to do. Try to be active every day and your body will thank you later!
