Kick your workout up a notch with BODYCOMBATLes Mills BODYCOMBAT®

Some people can get on a treadmill or cycle and work up a sweat without a problem. But some people need a little more excitement when they want to get their blood pumping. Les Mills' BODYCOMBAT is that kind of workout. Bring a towel, because this hour-long routine will have you sweating with our certified instructors as you punch and kick your way through an exercise rut. Need motivation? The double-time music is guaranteed to get your body ready to move, and the instructors encourage you to have fun as you work through the martial arts inspired routines. BODYCOMBAT classes are offered at the Caine Halter Family Y, Eastside Family Y, George I Theisen Family Y, and GHS Family Y. Check your branch's schedule to find a time to try this total-body class.

Kettlebells Fundamentals

Kettlebell class is the complete body workout. This class will get you in shape or help you stay in shape: a total transformation workout in around 30 minutes that will tone, sculpt, and change your body! The intent of a kettlebell is to increase strength, endurance, and agility while challenging the cardiovascular and muscular system by doing dynamic functional movements. This intro class will introduce you to the basic kettlebell lifts with a strong emphasis on form and technique while teaching the core set of exercises.

Try Group Cycling for a great workout

The Y is proud to feature the Keiser M3 indoor bicycles for Group Cycling programs at all four YMCA of Greenville branches.  The Keiser M3 offers many effective benefits and easy to use features.  The M3 offers quiet operation enabling a positive workout while being able to hear the instructor and/or music without cracking up the volume.

Constancy and consistency are important when involved in a workout and in using a Keiser M3 bike those two benefits are obtainable through dependable gearing and magnetic resistance flywheels, where the resistance mechanism never runs or wears out.  The onboard computer is a feature that accurately provides feedback on pace, watts and heart rate leaving no room for guessing about if the workout is truly helping you get fitter, stronger and faster.

Another vital feature is the onboard power meter that consistently displays current power output in watts, which reports on the quality and quantity of your workout without bias.  Most importantly the pedals work with your Shimano SPD cleats or regular old sneakers. Ride in whichever shoe you prefer. This bike is recommended to everyone from the first time user to the triathlon cyclist. All cycling classes are offered free of charge to any YMCA of Greenville member, so come out and try the new Keiser M3.
