What is the vision or mission statement for fyi?
The goal of the fyi Teen Center is to provide a safe, supervised space for high school teens in the downtown area. The programming at fyi is geared specifically towards helping high school students be successful in school, and helping them develop a set of career goals that include continuing their education after high school.
Who can attend fyi?
fyi is open to any high school student. Membership is free, but requires both student and parents/guardians to agree to a set of behavior and achievement expectations. fyi offers some programs for middle school students. Check the fyi schedule for these events.
Who operates the fyi Teen Center?
The YMCA of Greenville's Teen Services branch operates the fyi Teen Center.
When is fyi open?
The fyi Teen Center is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
How much does it cost to join fyi?
Membership is free to any high school student.
May I rent fyi for an event or function?
fyi is available for private events and functions if the space is not being used by the YMCA or Furman. Contact Furman University for more information at 864-294-3267.
How is fyi funded?
fyi is funded through individual, corporate and foundation donations and grants.
