What is the Pawley’s Island Leadership Development & Planning Conference?

The Pawley’s Island Leadership Development & Planning Conference is open to any high school student attending the high school Model Legislature & Court Conference in the fall. Previous YIG experience is not a requirment to attend this conference. While not a requirement, students that are serving in leadership positions at the conference are strongly encouraged to attend.

When and where is the conference held?

The conference this year will be held at North Litchfield beach from September 28th - 30th, 2018. 

What do students do while at the conference?

Students learn about their leadership style and what makes a good leaders. Students also work to help improve the fall YIG conferences. Students also get free time to hang out at the beach and build friendships with fellow participants.

How much is the conference?

The Pawley’s Island Leadership Development & Planning Conference is $200/student for high school students. Fees include housing, transportation and all meals.  

How do students participate?

Students participate in Pawley’s independently of their school.
