The YMCA of Greenville is committed to offering an evidence-based fitness program created by the PWR! (Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery) Organization, and led by certified PWR! trained instructors. The Wellness Works Rx-Parkinson's program is designed to empower people with Parkinson’s disease to optimize their physical function and helps delay the progression of symptoms. Research in the area of Parkinson’s disease indicates that exercise has shown to improve self-confidence and independence, decrease the risk of falls, minimize fatigue, reduce rigidity and improve mobility. The Parkinson’s exercise program is geared specifically to counteract the movement challenges experienced by people with Parkinson’s. Classes are ongoing and participants may join at any time.

To join, visit any YMCA of Greenville location and talk with a member services staff member. If you have questions, you can request more information about membership or schedule a tour here. In order to take part in the Wellness Works Rx-Parkinson's program, please download and fill out this medical clearance form.

WW Rx-Parkinson's group exercise classes are led by certified instructors and are designed so that a new member can join in any time after medical clearance has been granted.  WW Rx - Parkinson's Group Exercise classes meet at the following locations and times. Or, if you are able, please consider making a donation to the YMCA of Greenville Annual Campaign to help others in our
