Be water smart from the start! Sign up for free Water Safety lessons!
Safety Around Water Day is May 22!
We will be teaching all participants -- from ages 2 to 12 years old -- basic comfort and survival swimming skills while working toward building confidence around water. Parent/child sessions for infants 6-24- months old and also lessons for children with diverse abilities will be offered. ¡Lección ofrecida en Español!
We will also be teaching participants how to react and respond if there is a water emergency. The danger areas and topics we will teach are backyard pools, waterfronts, recreational or community pools, and boats and watercraft safety. Our trained and certified instructors will be working with volunteers to pass this knowledge on to all that participate in our program.
Water Safety Day is free, but we do require registration as spots are limited. We are offering this single-day program at the YMCA Program Center at Adams Mill.
Water safety knowledge makes everyone water smart from the start! The Water Safety Week (offered every Spring Break) and Safety Around Water Day programs are built on a foundation of overall safety and risk prevention that reflects the Y’s commitment to the well-being of all.
