In our Full Day Summer Camp program, your child will grow their social skills, build confidence, and make life-long memories in small, grade-level groups. Each week, your camper will play games, swim, go on field trips, and choose from activities such as sports, cooking, crafts, outdoor skills and more! Each week provides unique experiences and themes – with fun surprises around every corner. Our team is excited to make Summer 2024 the best one yet!

Our Teen Camp offers a space where youth from all backgrounds are welcomed, discover new skills, establish positive relationships, and reach their full potential. Through weekly themes, teens (rising 6th-8th grade), will participate in activities and discussions that explore service learning and leadership development – all while having fun in the process! Your teen is sure to find their spark this summer at the YMCA.

We are excited to offer our 4 week CIT program. The focus of this program is to gain leadership and life skills, and prepare for future employment. *Application is open as long as space is available.

Focus: Gaining leadership skills and preparing for future employment.
Gains: professional recommendations, life skills, staff mentor, certification of completion for the CIT program, YMCA leader certification.

To apply for the Counselor in Training Program:

Art Camp

Art provokes thought, encourages expression, and helps to build self-esteem.  In accordance with SC State Standards, your artist will build a portfolio which includes examples of Abstract, Pointillism, Modern, and Pop art.  Learning about Artist such as Jackson Pollock, Henri Matisse and Vincent Van Gogh will help your camper build the artistic skills they will need to become the best artist, thinker, collaborator, and storyteller they can be.  Come imagine and create with us.

Jr. Engineering Camp

We Can Rebuild It.  Better.  Faster.  Stronger.  In this building camp for curious innovators, our campers will explore items from the world around them and figure out how they can build it better.  From simple machines to propulsion cars, our campers will channel their inner engineer as they engage in hands-on STEM challenges and inventive projects.  Using SC State Standards for engineering, students will build 21st century skills in critical thinking, problem solving, technology, collaboration and more.

Jurassic Lab Camp

Jump into a time machine and travel back to the days of the dinosaurs with The Y!  Campers will learn about fossil formation, prehistoric plants, and the varieties of dinosaurs that roamed the earth millions of years ago. Our time-traveling explorers will craft their own dino eggs and fossils, go on a very special dinosaur dig, learn how to keep a field journal of all their discoveries and create their own Jurassic terrarium.  This fascinating interactive camp combines biology, paleontology, botany, and art, in accordance with SC State Standards.

Kinder Camp

Kinder Camp combines all the fun of camp with the academics of school to help rising kindergarteners to transition with confidence into the classroom. In line with the South Carolina State Standards, Kinder Camp promotes higher-order thinking, cooperative learning and play, as well as social and emotional growth. Kinder Camp will allow our littlest campers to hone their social as well as academic skills and learn how to make friends, follow classroom instructions, and work cooperatively. Our Kinder Campers will become Superheroes, Mad Scientist, Artist, and Engineers during their exciting week at camp.

Mad Scientist Camp

Do you have a young scientist itching to stretch their science muscles over summer, then Mad Scientist camp is for you.  Using SC State Standards for science, campers will unleash the awesomeness of the scientific method, then use it to explore the world of chemical reactions, discover the connection between solids, liquids, and gases, and much, much more!  At the end, campers will take home all their creative projects for friends and family to enjoy, as well as the tools of their trade to continue their scientific journeys at home.  Your little scientist will be “mad” about science after this experience!

Space Camp

Space Camp is designed to inspire your young scientist’s curiosity, passion, and confidence to discover something extraordinary. What is the surface of other planets like?  How much would you weigh on Mars?  How long does it take to get from Earth to Saturn?  Summer Astronauts will investigate these questions and delve into the processes of making science fun for all. Your young astronauts will be sent out on specially developed exciting space missions that provide educational opportunities in physics, rocketry, and astronomy in accordance with SC State Standards, which means they will interact with materials and information that they have seen or will potentially see in their classrooms.

Spy Kids Camp

Are you ready for your first top secret mission?   We need your help to solve crimes and unravel the mystery of what's lurking in the shadows.  Spy Kids campers will engage in S.T.E.A.M. activities like observation, code deciphering, gadget building, secret messages, and more. Using math and science, in accordance with SC State Standards, your Spy Kids will interact with information that they have seen or will potentially see in their classrooms

Star Wars Camp

Attention young Padawans. Something inside of you has always been there, but now it has awakened.  Our Jedi masters will promote STEAM learning using the stories from the movie series Star Wars.  Using science and technology, art, and engineering, in accordance with SC State Standards, your camper will learn to master the wielding of the lightsaber with Jedi Masters, build and maintain their very own droid or X Wing Starfighter, and strengthen the body and mind (through Art) in order to effectively use the force.  Through our training, Padawans will discover the power of the hero within.  May the Force Be with You.

Swim Camp

Swim Camp is held in weekly sessions throughout the summer for swimmers of all levels.  Swim Camp is designed to provide a safe, fun environment while improving swimming strokes and learning how to be safer in and around water. Campers will be divided into groups based on swim assessment skill level (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced). Each group will focus on swimming skills based on current skills and abilities (beginner through advanced swimming strokes). Each day, campers will rotate through swim instruction, group games, free swim, and water safety activities. In addition to a bathing suit and towel, campers should also bring swim goggles, a labeled water bottle and sunscreen. A small snack will be provided for each camper.

Jr. Lifeguarding Camp

Jr. Lifeguard Camp prepares youth & teens for the responsibility of supervising and keeping a pool deck safe. Campers will train and learn procedures such as general safety rules, how to respond to aquatic emergencies, and buddy checks. Campers will also complete American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification. To attend Jr. Lifeguard Camp, the camper must be at least 11 years old and be able to swim at least 100 yards continuous, any stroke. In addition to a bathing suit and towel, campers should also bring swim goggles, a labeled water bottle and sunscreen. A small snack will be provided for each camper.

Triathlon Camp

Prepares and trains athletes to complete triathlon events. Campers will have fun while participating in biking, swimming, and running training throughout the week. Campers will practice skills such as competitive biking techniques (shifting, cornering, biking up hills successfully, riding in a group), running techniques, swimming stroke instruction and how to transition.  Plus play fun games, activities & more! From new to experienced athletes, Y staff will adapt the activities for all levels to develop valuable skills. Equipment list will be emailed out prior to camp and be branch specific.

Dance with Disney

Calling all Disney lovers! This camp will introduce campers to jazz, ballet, and hip-hop by dancing along with their favorite Disney songs from Disney classics to Disney Channel Songs. Campers will dance, make crafts, and learn multiple routines to perform for family and friends on Friday. Campers should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in.

Twirls and Tutus

Calling all aspiring ballerinas! Throughout the week, campers will learn the basics of ballet, dance their way through story time ballets, and make their own tutus. On Friday, parents are invited to an informal performance highlighting skills learned throughout the week. Participants need ballet slippers and should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. Leotards may be worn but are not required.

Basketball Camp

This basketball camp is designed for kids who are being introduced to the sport or have played a few seasons and are beginning to develop basic skills. Kids will learn proper dribbling techniques, passing, basics of defense and more. Kids will play a game or tournament style games on Friday.

Flag Football Camp

There is a reason football is the most popular sport in America, especially the South. Whether you wear Clemson Orange or Gamecock Garnet this camp will have it all! Kids will be broken into groups by age and have a full understanding of Football. They will learn different routes to run, defense skills, how to rip a flag away and more.

Flying Disc Sports Camp

Flying Disc Sports Camp is all about the frisbee! Half disc golf, half ultimate frisbee. Campers will learn different throwing techniques for all scenarios along with rules for both games. On Friday they will play a 9-hole course and have an ultimate frisbee game!

Pickleball Camp

This camp is kind of a big dill! While it has a funny name, Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the US!A cross between ping pong, badminton, and tennis, pickleball is easy to pick up a paddle and get in the game. Campers will learn the rules of the game, shot techniques, & match strategy. On Friday, we will hold a singles and doubles tournament!

Soccer Camp

The world’s game! With 226 nations in the world recognizing soccer as their national sport, it is easy to see why soccer is so popular especially here at the YMCA! Kids in this camp will be broken up into groups by age and will work on age-appropriate skills. Campers will learn how to properly pass, dribble, control the ball, shoot and more. Parents will be invited to watch a game on Friday.

This camp will help athletes develop and grow their love for the game. Campers will learn how to serve consistently over the net, how to hit the ball to both teammates and over the net and more. Campers will play a full volleyball game Friday morning.

All Sports Camp

Love Sports? This camp has it all-Soccer, Flag Football, Basketball, and Frisbee! Each day will focus on a different sport, learning the basics of each and playing a scrimmage every day! Campers will get to choose their favorite sport and parents will be invited for a full game on Friday! Equipment Needed: Shin Guards-Soccer; Mouth Guard-Football.

Extended Day Camp is an option for parents who seek to complement their child’s half-day camp with additional activities. When your camper’s specialty camp is not in session, they’ll join their friends in Full Day Summer Camp for an extended time of fun and play! Extended camp is only available if your camper is signed up for a specialty camp. Students will be taken to their specialty camp by one of our staff, and returned to full day summer camp after specialty camp ends. Please note: Extended Day Campers do not go on field trips.

Full Day, Teen, and Extended Day Camps
  • A $50 registration fee is required at time of registration (non-refundable).
  • A $10 deposit is required to reserve your spot for each session week.  
  • Fees must be paid through our automated payment system. You will be required to set up this auto-draft payment method at the time of registration. This payment authorization is to remain in effect until the Y receives the required notification to cancel the program. Your scheduled payment amount will increase/decrease based on the weekly fee plans, and will be adjusted to reflect holidays that fall within your camp week. If your scheduled payment is returned or if you stop payment or your account closes, you will be responsible to pay the program fees and the $25 service fee. If any changes occur with your bank account, debit or credit card, please notify the Y immediately.
  • A cancellation notice is required in writing at least 15 business days prior to the camp’s start date.
  • Written cancellation notices received at least 15 business days prior to the camp start date will result in a refund or system credit of amount paid (minus $10 deposit).
  • No refunds or system credits will be issued for cancellation requests not submitted at least 15 business days prior to the camp start date.

Half Day Camps

 4 Year Olds

Child must be 5 years old and a rising kindergartener to participate in camp. You may register a child who is currently 4 years old, but will turn 5 before the desired camp week. Please call us at 864.412.0288 if the system prevents you from registering.

Full Day & Extended Day Camps

If your child has a summer birthday and the system prevents you from registering them into the appropriate camp grade division (based on their rising grade), please call us at 864.412.0288 for assistance.

Half Day Camps

Child must be the age stated on the camp description on the first day of that camp in order to register.
