RECESS (Recreation, Education, Community, Exercise, Social and Service) is a signature program of The YMCA of Greenville for post-high school adults with diverse abilities. During programming, participants learn about nutrition, fitness, social responsibility, community outreach, and independent living skills. RECESS allows adults with diverse abilities not only a place to continue to learn new skills, but also gives them a place to connect with friends and gain a sense of belonging.
NEW! RECESS Teen Summer Day Camp
Get ready for something new and exciting! RECESS Teen Camp is a signature pilot program of the YMCA of Greenville created just for high school students, ages 14-17, with diverse abilities. This one-of-a-kind camp is all about fun, friendship, and new adventures. From recreational games and fitness activities to social outings and service projects, teens will stay active, build confidence, and connect with their community—all while creating memories that will last a lifetime!

Week 2: June 8-12

Hours: 9:00 am - Noon
Location: Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 2240 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville
Eligibility Criteria:
For Ages 14-17
Function within staff ratios 1 staff for every 6 campers
Be able to use the restroom independently
Price:
Registration Fee: $50
Y Members: $125/week
Community: $160/week

Registration Opens February 11. Once your application has been received, you will be contacted by RECESS staff to schedule a family intake, which is an informal meeting to verify eligibility criteria, review the parent handbook, meet the site lead instructor, and tour the facility.
